Now what?

We have so much KITCHEN stuff that we have no idea where we are going to store it.  We love it all…we just ran into the lack of storage issue.

As of now, we have everything in the closet in categories.  One section of the closet has all of our major kitchen stuff, another section with “Fancy Nancy” stuff (very nice dishes that we will make sure to use for get-togethers), and a section of seasonal kitchen stuff.

And I totally feel like Monica Gellar for having categories.

Any advice when it comes to storage in your house?  Anything that seems to work best for you?  Please share…Brett & I will be VERY grateful!

I had the pleasure of visiting Rebekah & Connor this past weekend for Connor’s 11 month portraits.  We had so much fun tearing up him room and throwing his toys all over the place.  200 pictures later, here are a few sneak peeks.

Just one of my favorites from the day!

In the Works

13Jan09

I am so excited about becoming “Kate Whitmore Photography” in 47 days.  (I told my fiance that my new last name is “Photography,” not “Whitmore”).  & yes, I have a countdown.

I have a few things in the works to really get the business going & to get the website started.  I am super psyched about it all and about learning & growing as a photographer.  I will continue to update as I switch over to a new wordpress blog–which will probably be a little BEFORE I get married just due to the fact that the project I am working on may call for it.  No point in starting out with one name for a couple weeks and then switching to another so fast, right?

Other than that, I am not going to give out too much info quite yet! ;)

On New Year’s Eve, I had the chance to go to a wedding with Alison Bynum.  I was able to play around with the camera and get a good feel for “the big day” from a photographer’s standpoint.

I loved all of the details of Megan + Nick’s wedding!  They had really put a lot of thought into what they wanted, and everything ended up looking gorgeous.  Here are just a few detailed shots from the day.

The centerpieces were beautiful!  Since they were combining their reception with a New Year’s party, they provided noisemakers with Hershey’s kisses inside each one.

Publix designed their cake for them, & it turned out really great.

At first, I refused to set resolutions. Why?
Because I, like the majority of other people, never follow through with them.
After debating it, I realized I should set realistic ones. Here’s what I came up with:

(1) Shoot at least 3 weddings by myself as Kate Whitmore Photography. Depending on how fast the business grows and how fast I continue to learn, we’ll see how that goes. But I feel like it’s a nice goal considering I won’t be under that name for a few more months and that I am in school until May. However, I am taking every chance I can get to second-shoot with other photographers because I feel like I learn so much when I do.

(2) Limit my facebook stalking to 15 minutes per day. Which I think I have done so far. I didn’t actually keep track of the minutes today but it was close enough.

And as I feel that a 3rd resolution is necessary just to make it feel more complete…

(3) 365 day self-portrait project. I am going to think of an awesome name for this since “365 day self-portrait project” is way too long. (Any ideas? Let me know.) Kate Crafton did this, and it was really awesome. I would love to start it on February 28, the day of my wedding and let it be something that Brett & I can look back on as the first year of our marriage. I’m pretty psyched about it. I’ll try to keep everyone posted once it starts and show you what I come up with every day.

Any resolutions for you this year?
